A MEETING of shareholders in W. C. Pickett, Limited, was held the other evening. The directors report, balancesheet, and auditors report was read and adopted.' Mr R. English, F. A.A.N.Z., was ref-elected auditor. The managing director complimented the shareholders on the successful year’s operations, as disclosed -by the balance sheet. At the close <# the meeting the directors invited the shareholders to ijoin, them and the employees to supper. A first-class menu was provided to which full justice was done, after wich a lengthy toast fist was disposed of.' Songs, readings, and recitations Wert? given by Dr. Seville, W. C. Pickett, and S. Syme, which added greatly, .to the enjoyment, and proved that the firm has not neglected the social side of life, while making such rapid adr vance in. the commercial affairs of the town, i;' ,
