Te Aroha District Co-operative Dairying Company, Ltd.

On Tuesday last the Directors of the above Company paid their annual inspection to the creameries and factory under their control. The directors who made the trip were .—Messrs T. Gavin (chairman), W. Mace, S. V. Knight, Fred Strange, and W. Taylor. Mr Morrow (Manager), and the N*£Ws representative were also present. The party left Mr Hogan’s stables shortly after 8 a.m, and after the Te Aroha West and Mangaiti Creameries had been inspected and alterations and improvements in both the buildings and machinery had been decided on, a start was made in the direction of Lower Waitoa Creamery. At the invitation of Mr and Mrs Fred Strange a halt was made at “ Belle View ” for dinner, where the party was treated right royally. A start was next made towards Waitoa. Crossing the wide stretch of country between Mangaiti and Lower Waitoa marked improveimprovements are met with, new roads, bridges, etc., being the order of the day. After the Waitoa Creamery had been overhauled, the factory itself was visited at Waihou, where seme time was spent. Amongst other improvements an addition of 20 x 12 is to be made on the east end of the' building for storage purposee. It was close on 5 o’clock before the party returned to Te Aroha.

..Yesterday afternoon a special general meeting of shareholders took place in the Public Hall. There was a representative attendance, close on 68 being present. Mr T. Gavin occupied tbe chair. The Directors present were Messrs Strange, O’Donoghue, Hogan, Knight, Mace, and Taylor.

The meeting was a very orderly and friendly one. Various questions were asked and answered.

The following resolution, proposed by Mr Gavin and seconded by Mr O’Donoghue, was put and carried, 40 voting for and only 3 against : “ That the Directors may increase the capital of the Company to £IO,OOO by tbe issue of 2,000 additional shares of £2 each, such to be dealt with as if they formed part of the original capital of the Company.” The other resolution, proposed by Mr Gavin and seconded by Mr Strange, was also carried, the voting being 40 for and 7 against “ That the shareholders at this meeting instruct the Directors to make every effort to increase the business of the Company by trying to induce other adjacent dairying districts to join this company.” /
