H« did not deny that the whole, business was a gamble, but it was a good gamble, in which he was very willing to lay odds on success. ; J : V The Marquis ofLansdowpe (Leadcjr of the Opposition) hoped that the Government was not going to gamble with the nation’s safety. Ultimately the subject dropped.
