Police Court

(Before Messrs T. Gavin and J. Mills, J’s.P.’i At the Police Court on Tuesday, three natives named Rawiri Kau and Petite te Wharua (women) and Wharepapa Melca were charged on the information of Constable Berry with creating a disturbance in Whitaker-street, Te Aroha, on Saturday evening last. Constable Berry, in describing the case, said it was a most disgraceful one. Mr Guilding acted as interpreter. The accused pleaded guilty. The two women were fined £1 and 10s, respectively and costs, while Mick (an ole offender) was fined £2 and costs 18s. The Bench warned Mick that should he again appear before them he would be sent to Mt Eden gaol.
