Piako Mounted Rifles.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above company was held in the Te Aroha Public Hall on Saturday evening last. There was a very fair muster of officers, non-coms., and men. Captain Allen occupied the chair, and after the usual routine business had been attended to the balance sheet was read and adopted. It was showed that on receipt of capitation due there would be a balance of £l2O.
Captain Allen stated that the first business was the election of a Secretary.
On the motion of Lieuteuant Campbell, seconded by Trooper Wallace, Sergt-Major Tattersall was appointed secretary to the Squadron. Finance Committee: L.M.Segt. Devey and Corporal Gummer were a Finance Committee. It was resolved that the secretary be remumerated to the extent of £ls per annum, and the S.M. Sergt. £5. Shooting Committee.—The following were appointed a Shooting Committee -L.M. Sergt. Devey, Sergt. Maingay, Sergt. Given, Trooper Cooper, Sergt. Hamilton, Coirp. Taylor. Auditors. —Corp. Larney and Lieut. Campbell were appointed auditors.
Presentation —During the evening the' Knock Belt was presented to Sergt. Maingay aud the HeatherRoberton Belt to Trooper Cooper.
