A REMINDER TO CITIZENS.
[To the Editor.] Sir,—Allow me to remind all interested in educational matters that the Election of School Committees take place on Monday, April 27th. They are urged te return members who favour the following reforms : 1. The placing of the “ Ten Commandments" Wall Chart in each class-room. 2. The reading of a simple Bible lesson daily by scholars under the supervision of the teacher. The Wellington Education Board has allowed the Ten Commandments to be placed on the walls of their schools. In Ireland, and Ontario, Canada, the Ten Commandents are exhibited. In the latter province they are repeated once a week by the scholars.
Owing to the increase of juvenile crime it is felt that our children’s education is not complete without some definite knowledge of the great moral laws laid down in the Bible, which is the best text book of morals, besides being our greatest classic. It therefore rests with the School Committees of this Dominion to say if they want this reform.) Kindly attend Election for the children’s sake.—l am etc., S. PEARSON. 134, Cuba-street, Wellington. April 10th, 19 8.
