Myers) from the Prime Minister at Roxborough in reply to one sent by His .Worship regarding the action of the Governmental respect to the vientef the American fleet: “In reply to your telegram the Government”' programme for entertaining the fleet.wfll be considered when the Ministers meet in Wellington next week, and I will advise you of the decision when I am in a position to do so. The hearty co-operation of the citizens of Auckland will be appreciated by the Government > For your information as to the number of vessels, this has been asked for, and I am informed that 1 5 are coming, though it is not definite. I shall let yon have any information I can later.— J. G. Ward.’*
