CORRESPONDENCE.

(We are not responsible for the opinions expressed by our correspondents.) [To the Editor.] Sib, —As a resident of this beautiful town I think it is about time the residents took in hand tree or shrub planting on the hill where the late fire has destroyed all natural growth. To a visitor it looks very unsightly at present. I would propose that the Mayor call a public meeting of the 'residents of Te Aroha, to see if something could be done to again beautify the hill. I would suggest that some holiday be set apart for tree planting and I am sure if it was headed by the Mayor and Councillors there would be no want of willing workers to assist. I think it would be a good idea to plant a lot of Wattle trees, as they will grow anywhere, and are evergreens, and when in flower are very beautiful. Hoping that some abler pen than mine will take this matter up. —I am, ete, , Resident.
