At the annual meeting of the Goldfields Union, held at Karangahake, the officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows :—Patron, Mr H. Poland, M.P.; president, Mr O. F. Pilling; vice-presidents, Messrs Eraser" and Lavery (Waikino), Inglis and Meikle (Karangahake),: Somers and Ganiev (Piako), Crosby ; and Moriarty (Paeroa), Peacock- and Wynyard (Waihi); secretary _ and treasurer, Mr H. Bush ; Auditors, Messrs Quick and Dixon ; management committee, Messrs Field and Evitt (Waikino), McWhiiter • and Searle (Waihi), Geddes and Comerford (Piako), Mettam, and Sherson (Paeroa), and two to be appointed by the Karangahake Union. It was decided that the representative matches commence on May 23rd, the first round being arranged as follows :—May 23rd, Paeroa v. Waihi at Paeroa, Waikino v. Karangahake at Waikino; May 30th, Paeroa v. Waikino at Waikino; Piako v. Waihi at Te Aroha; June 6th, Karangahake. v. Waihi at Waihi ; Piako v. Waikino at Waikino ; June 13th, Paeroa v. Karangahake at Paeroa ; Waikino v. Waihi at Waihi; June 20th, Karangahake v. Piako at Te Aroha; June 27th, Paeroa v. Piako at Paeroa.
