A very popular we lding to >k pi too at the Met’uodist Church yesterday afternoon, the contracting parties being Miss Cecilia Francis Lovegrove, second daughter of Mrs G. L ivcgrove, senr., who was maried to Mr Henry G. Saunders, of Te An - 1 a. The ceremony was performed by the itev Dnic-s, ami the young co 'pie being members of the choir, the service \va a chord one. The Church was crowded with friends of the bride and brio -groom. ; The bride was given away by her brother. Mr J. Lovegrove, and was attended by her three nieces, Misses Violet, Ituth and Blanche Lovegrove. Mr f. Lovegrove was best man and Mr J. AVild, groomsman. r l :e bride who looked very pretty, wore a d" -ss of rich ivory silk, with court train, and trimmings of silk gyinp, Oriental lace and chiffon. She also wore the orthodox wreath and veil, and orange blossoms, and carried a very pretty shower bouquet, the gift of Mrs B. Laybourn. The bridegroom’s present to the brid - was a gold diamond brooch and bangle, and the bride’s present was a sei if gold sleeve links. Misses Eulh and Violet Lovegrove w--i ■ dresses of cream nun’s veiling with trii . uings of insertion and lace ; while Miss Blanche Lo egrove wore cream Jane.nose silk with trimmings of lace. All the bridesmaids wore picture hats and carried dainty baskets of flowers. The briu -gloom’s presents to the bridesmaids wer - pretty gold broaches. J'he bride’s travelling dress was a costume of grey cloth, trimmed with white stir -pings, end fa mo, silk buttons over a dainty nest of luce, v.ilh a pretty hat to match. The drosses which were very mu h admired, were the work of Miss Manning. After the ceremony, a reception was j hell at Mrs Lovegn-ve s residence, a lare l ! number of friends sitting down to the breakfast. The usual toasts wore pro used and enthu-iustically drunk. The large number of presents received including a number of cheques, testified to the popularity of Mr and Mrs Saunders. Among the presents wereapair of haudsom ! silver jam dishes from the uethodist ■ ho'r of which Mr and Mrs Saunders are members. At the station a large crowd assembled to ’ld them g od.-bye on their honeymomi, and s uno wag placed a large placard on the carriage with the notice on “ I. iolc, just married,” and when the bridogro--m’s attention was drawn to it tliei e was nil airuunng struggle to prevent him turning it off' tl.c carriage. Several detonators were placed on the rails and as Ihe train moved off these exploded.. The young couple, who have the kind wishes of a large circle of friends, will spend their honeymoon in Auckland.
