Rotorua Railway Accident.

THE INQUEST. (By Telegraphr—Press Association.) ROTORUA, This Day. The inquest on the railway accident was concluded yesterday. The evidence was very conflicting. The staff declare the brakes were put on before the engines were uncoupled, and the passengers say no brakes were applied. The jury, after an hour and a half’s retirement found that the evidence was too conflicting to justify them arriving at a decision at to the cause of the runaway. The inquiry into the Rotorua railway accident will open at Auckland on Wednesday, Mr Kettle S.M. presiding. Railway officials from here will give evidence.
