The Reserve Fund Securities Bill was put through all Committee stages and read a third time and passed. The Houso went into committee on supply, and adjourned at 5.30 p.m. On resuming the Heuse, in committee of supply, the following items, public buildings and domains, £39,007 ; maintenance of roads, £25,000 ; printing and stationery department, £41,878 ; stamp and deeds department, £35,623; native department, £27,684, were agreed to without alteration.

The Minister for Railways informed Mr Massey that provision is being made for considerable improvements to the Ptikekohe railway station.

The Minister for Justice, in answer to Mr Greenfiade, stated: “The Govern ment have under consideration proposals for increasing the facilities for the transj#ion of Supreme Court business. The suggestion to have sittings at Hamilton will receive consideration in connection with these proposals.” The Minister for Labour stated, in answer to Mr Stall worthy, that the ques ti m of an amendment to the Kauri Gum Industry Act, as asked for by the recent gumdiagers’ conference, would he considered during the recess,

It was stated, in replies to questions by Mr ltemingtou and Mr Jennings, that instructions had been given for a trial survey of a branch line of railway to connect Raetihi with the Main Trunk railway, and that the matter of making further provision for man employed on the railway, and at adjacent sawmills, obtaining building sections, was under consideration.
