Tramway Accident.

HORSE ELECTROCUTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This DayAs a tramcar bound from Remuera was proceeding past Ayr Street last night a trolley pole slipped from the electric w ire and became entangled with the overhead construction, with the result that a live wire was brought down. Mrs De L'enzy, of Parnell, with her son a u( l daughter, were driving behind the ca r > an d as they crossed to turn down a side street the live wire struck the horse which immediately collapsed, throwing the occupants on to the road. When the horse fell, it took the live wire with it, expiring in a few minutes. The wire continued to fuse and burnt into the flesh presenting a sickening spectacle. The power was finally shut off, and after some delay service was restored.
