HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House met at 2 30, Sc. Andrew’s Church, Wellington, Trustees Empowering Bill, and Agricultural Laborers Accommodation Bill, were read the first time, The Premier announced that the Financial Statement would be brought down on Tuesday night, accompanied by the Land Bill, Endowment Bill, and L n nd and Income Assessment Bills, and later the Native Laud Bill would also be circulated. Leave of absence fur a fortnight was granted to Mr H. Kaihau The House adjourned at 5 p,m. to present address to Governor. The Hon. Steward moved the second reading of the Legislative Council Election Bill. The debate was continued by Barclay, Wilford, T. Mackenzie, Fisher, Ward, Massey, Gray, Laurenson, Symes, Field, Lang, Major, James Allen, McLachlau, . Stallworthy and Hanan. At 11.50 Hon. Steward rose to reply. Hon. R. McKenzie moved the second reading of the Noxious Weed Amendment Bill. A division was taken without debate and carried by 41 to 28.
