HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

The House met at 2 30, Sc. Leave of absence fur a fortnight was granted to Mr H. Kaihau The House adjourned at 5 p,m. to present address to Governor. The Hon. Steward moved the second reading of the Legislative Council Election Bill. The debate was continued by Barclay, Wilford, T. Mackenzie, Fisher, Ward, Massey, Gray, Laurenson, Symes, Field, Lang, Major, James Allen, McLachlau, . Stallworthy and Hanan. At 11.50 Hon. Steward rose to reply. Hon. R. McKenzie moved the second reading of the Noxious Weed Amendment Bill. A division was taken without debate and carried by 41 to 28.
