MORRINSVILLE.
[Our own Correspondent.] The committee appointed have decided on Thursday next, 4th July, as the date for the complimentary social to Mr and Airs Ilintrn and family. Permission has been granted to use the Council Chambers as well as the Hall, which will thus ensure those having a good time who do not indulge in dancing, it being the intention of the Committee to use it for a social room at the conclusion of the speeches. The Piako Rugby Union junior football match between Waihou and Morrinsville was played here on Satuiday. The ground was in a very wet state, but despite the heavy going, some real good football was seen, Morrinsville winning by 16 points to nil. Tries being scored by Bygrave (two), R. Irwin and Neels one each, two of which were converted by Neels Mr Lowry gave every satis faction as referee, despite the fact that the game was a hard one to follow.
