(By Telegraph —Press Association.) MELBOURNE, Yesterday. A special meeting of the Federal Cabinet has considered a cablegram from Mr Deakin with regard to mail matters. Sir John Forrest gave no information as to the discussion beyond stating that the Government was now in a position to negotiate finally for an extension of the Vancouver service. He hoped to make a statement on the subject shortly.
