Political Troubles.

There will be a surprise in store for those interested in politics this session. It is quite on the cards that there will be a dissolution. The brewers are "working keenly for that end, and present indications point out that they C’-jU be successful. The enormous

pwer wielded by the brewing naonoplies in this country practically gives into their keeping the decision of political affairs. This is a dangerous menace to good government, and it will be the bounden duty of all reformers to fight this monopoly for all it is worth. The best friends of the monopoly at the present time are the conservative prohibitionists. These people, while pretending to curb the curse of liquor, are all the time playmg into the hands of the owners of the monopoly by supporting them in all their political and municipal fights. Probably they will resent this assertion ; but that it is a fact is evidenced by the result of the last election for the municipality of Auckland, As this is the position of political events it behoves the Labour Party to get a move on, and make preparations for the next parliamentary campaign.— “New Zealand Worker.”
