LONDON, Yesterday. Mr Hughes, addressing a social at the Institutes Union, London, explained Australian labour movement claimed the labour party had been the petted child of other parties, and had been instrumental in securing valuable social reforms. Mr Deakin, interviewed, declared Sir R. Bond certainly protested emphatically at the Conference against the manner Newfoundland legislature had been subjected and the Imperial Government’s refusal to reverse its attitude. The premiers during the sitting expressed sympathy with Sir R. Bond’s contentions, but make no demonstrations of their feelings.
