(By Telegraph —Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day- # At the Huntly Native Meeting it was decided to ask all signatories to the petition to King Edward to contribute towards the cost of its printing and circulation, and also towards the expenses of sending a Deputation to England if found necessary. The Arawas, having reconsidered their relations with the big Maori Korero, decided to remain on the understanding that the question ol sending a deputation to Eng a and its personnel is left in abeyance. The document is to be signed oy delegates of all tribes throughout Aofeawa and Waipounamu, pledging themselves to uphold and maintain all the rights and privileges enjoyed by the natives m 1824. Kewhiti, the chief secretary, expressed a hope that the beneficial legislation would be adopted which the Maoris demanded as their peculiar right.
