PETITION TO KING SUGGESTED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day-

At a large native gathering near Iluntly Henare Kaihau declared that the Treaty of Waitangi had never been broken by the natives, and as far as they were concerned was still in force, and further, that the only means to get it recognised by the New Zealand Parliament was to send a petition to the King.
