School Attendance.

The Auckland Education Board is moving in the matter of the unsatisfactory attendances made by some of the pupils of the local schools. During the winter the Truant Officer has been in the neighbourhood, and has paid visits to all the schools. On Thursday and again on Friday he visited the Te Aroha School and made an examination of the rolls. In a number of cases he found that pupils had not made the number of attendances required by the School Attendance Act. Particulars of these were taken, and it is probable that the parents and guardians responsible will shortly be called on to givo reasons before the Court for their remissness.
