CUSTOMS RETURNS.
The Customs, returns for the Port of Auckland -for, the quarter . ended, MSarcib 31st, which have just been completed show a /marked improvement ah' compared with previous Periods The total value of the exports from the port for the past three months was £1,008,'706, or £56,033. in excess of the previous quarter, which was a record. The value of the imports was £1,012, 510, as against £1,121,070 for the previous, three- months. Though a substantial decrease in the imports is represented, there was, however, an increase in the dutv collected, which amounted to £197,767. Of the total imports, goods to the value of £13,346 were admitted under the ”1-efev-entual tariff, and £964.787 under ".‘m ordinary tariff. The largest suppliers were as follows: —United Kingdom. £600.666: United States, £180.630 : Fiji, £89,636 : New. South Wales. £62,129; Germane, £33.428 ; Bengal £26,642; Victoria, £25.985. The country which took the preatost proportion of our exports was the 'United Kingdom, New South Wales coming next and the United States - third.
