New Zealand Lean and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report. —Horses: On Friday, at the Durham Yards, horses wore yarded in larger numbers than usual, and for anything of a decent stamp competition was keen. Heavy draughts sold at from £29 10s to £4B 15s ; medium do., £lB 10s to £39; hacks, and light harness horses, £7 10s to £26 ; weeds, £5 10s to £S 15s ; spring cart, £l2 ; waggon £ls.

At Papakura on Wednesday we had a good yarding, which met a steady sale Dairy cows sold at from £3 15s to £7 12s Od ; do., heifers, £3 os to £6 15s ; empty cows, £1 18s to £3 2s; growu steers, £4 10s to £0 6s ; two to three year olds, -from £2 10s to £4 10s ; yearlings, £1 11s to £2 Ss; calves, 13s to £1 6s At Clevedon on Monday both cattle and sheep were yaided in more than usual numbers aud sold well. Dairy cows sold at from £3 5s to £5; calves , sold at from 15s to £1 6s ; sheep, ewes, 11s 6d to 13s; lambs, 8s 6d to 9s 6d. Cattle : At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday cattle of all descriptions were yarded in larger numbers than usual and met a ready sale Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £7 10 ; empty cows £1 15s to £3 8s ; calves, 15s to £1 7s. Fat cattle, of which there was an extra full muster (most of them being of excellent quality), sold at scarcely late rates. Oxen sold to 21s per 1001 b, cow 17s to 20s. Steers sold at from £6 10s to £ll 10s; cows, £4 os to £7 los. Sheep: At Newmarket on Tuesday sheep of all descriptions were yarded in large numbers aud advanced in price, wethers selling at from 18s 9d to £1 3s 9d, ewes 14s to £1 Is 3d. Lambs, which were in full supply, sold well at from 10s Od to 17s.

Pigs: Porkers sold at from 18s 9d to £1 11s; weaners, 6s 9d to 15s; baconers, £1 14s to £2 Is.

On Friday wo held a sale of bloodstock at the Harp of Erii stables, Ellerslie. There was a good attendance, but competition was dull. The following sales were effected :—Miss Rose, with foal at foot by Wairiki, 140 guineoS ; Froutino, 26 . guineas ; La Mascot;e, Id guineas. The stable and cottage at Ellerslie, sold on account «<i Mrs George Wright, realised £1 200. Maize: Supplies fz’orn Sydney have been heavy and the market lias eassd, New Zealand selling at 3s 2d on the wharf. Oats are in fair demand at 3s to 3s Id ex store. Wheat is selling freely at 3s 9d ex store. Chaff: A very slow sale at £4 10s at the rail. Butter, Bfd to 9d for best quality; milling, 7j-d. Cheese: Good demand at 6£d for prime ctory. faFungus is worth od Gum: A];l qualities are selling freely. Nos 1,2 and 3,130 s, 755, 455; good white chips, 355; chips and dust 225.
