Ota behalf of-Messrs Read, Gillespie and Go. Mr J. Braid held a successful .gale of stock at MJatatoke on. Thursday, afternoon, when despite the counter attraction in the shape of the Besses Band, there was; a large- attendance. There was also a fair attendance of local buyers, and the prices realised were on the whole very satisifaictory. Good calves up to six months were sold at 28s, yearling steers at £2 4s, voung heifers reached.from 23s to as high ais £2 Is, springing heifers sold at from j£3 10s to £5 2s 6d. A splendid line of young fat cows were sold at £4 10s, equal to 14s _ per lOOlhs. Dry stores Were sold at" from 30s tot 40s; three year old steers at £4; pigs (slips) sold at 10s each., A fine line of horses Was disposed of at sales from £ls to £l7 15s. A good line of sheep was yarded, eWes fetching 14s eaoh.
