MORRINSVILLE.

(Our Own Coirespondent.) On Saturday last the president of the Tennis Club, Dr. Seville, and Mrs Seville * eld an “ At Home ” at the tennis courts, and it proved a most successful fruction. The Doctor kindly brought his grapho phone, the selections from which were much enjoyed by the large number present. _ The lady members of the club i contributed to the afternoon’s enjoyment by dispensing afternoon tea. Dr. Seville took advantage of the occas on to make a presentation on behalf of the members of the tennis club to Mrs Walker, nee Miss May Horrell, of a hardsome Burleek afternoon tea set as a momento of er recent marriage, and for tha great interest she had. always taken in the club. Dr Seville’s speech was endorsed by acclamation, and was suitably responded tc by Mr Walker. A number of seta were 1 then played, the day being an ideal one for tennis, which, judging from the good use made of the courts, has evidently come to stay. Committee meetings are being held to formulate a plan for the carrying Out of regular entertainments throughout the coming winter. Judging from the samples of grapes grown in this district it should prove highly profitable to anyone who could grow them for the market, as they are of excellent quality. Later—By Telegraph. The annual meeting qf the Morrins-.-ville Football Club was held in the Nottingham Castle Hotel last night, seventeen members being present. MrGanley, vice president, occupied the chair. Minutes of the last meeting were confirmed, and the report and balance-sheet showed that the last season had started with a debit balance of 255, and ended with a credit of 16s 103. Officers were elected as 'followsPatron, Mr W. Aitken; president, Mr J. Cliffoid; vicepresidents, Mr W. Ganley, Dr. Seville, Messrs F. J. Marshall, Gummer, A.’ Aitken, H. Clifford, W. C. Pickett, J. C. R. Watts, Ellis, Humphries, Howie, H. Brayshaw, D. R. Campbell, Parlour and Walker; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. T. Spargo; committee and delegates to the Piako Rugby Union, Messrs Winter, F. Hinton and Simpson. The captain is . still to be elected. The subscription was i fixed at 3s 6d. Votes of thanks to the chairman and outgoing officers tennip-'? ated the proceedings. j
