Te Aroha Gymnastic Club.

The annual meeting of the Te Aroha Gymnastic Club was held last night in the Public Hall, a good number being present, including Rev. Colin Robertson and Captain Farquliar, of the s.s, Wakatere. Rev. Robertson was unanimously votea to the chair. Minutes of the last annual meeting, held two years ago, were read by the hoa. secretary, Mr F. A. Harris, and confirmed. The list of financial members for season 1905 showed a membership of eleven at | that time. i The balance sheet was then read and adopted as follows : Receipts.

The Secretary, Mr Harris, then reported as follows Last year was started with a membership of about 12, and the subscription was os. Last season there were no instructors, but Messrs Currie, Breuan and W. J. Collier had assisted the other members very greatly, and Gordon Wallace, who won the gold medal, performed very creditably. It would be necessary to get the gear, mattresses, horse, etc,, from under the hall, where it was stored. A little repair to the horse would be required. Mr Devey had been very liberal to the Club in the way of concessions in charges for use of the” hall and storage of the gear, A report was given by Mr Brenan on the condition of the apparatus, stating that it is in good condition with the ex> ception of the horse It was resolved to effect any small repairs required to the apparatus. The names of twenty candidates were handed in, the following officers being elected for the ensuing season : —Patron, W H. Herries, Esq., M.H.R.; president, Mr R. L. Somers; vice-presidents, Rev. C. Robertson, Dr, Kenny, Mr A. F. Burton; auditor, Mr P. Gilchristhon. secretary and treasurer, Mr F. A. Harris ; committee, Messrs W. Brenan, J. «Tennings, F. W. Harris, A. Currie, L. Hirst, J. McGiven. It was decided that practices be held weekly, alternatelj on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7.30 p.m , the first to be held on Monday, April 30th in the Public Hall. . A working bee will he held on Wednesday next, 17th inst. at 2 30 p.m. to overhaul the gear. The appointment of an instructor was left to the Committee.

It was resolved to hold an open night on Tuesday, May 14th, each member being allowed to bring two friends. The subscription was fixed at 5s per year The members expressed great appreciation when it was announced that Mr F. A. Harris has donated a prize to be pre seuted to the member who shows most improvement and best conduct during the season. A vote of thanks was passed to the officers and instructors for past services, and to Mr Devey for his considerate treatment in the matter of hire of Hall. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings. 1
