AUCKLAND, This DayMr M&i'ih, superintendent of wooers’ dwellings settlements, met the tenants at Ellerslie workmens’ homes, and explained the amended regulations of tenancy. He stated that the Government proposed to do all necessary repairs and renovations due to fair wear and tear, and went into insurance and other matters which needed explanation. He showed how the tenants were actually paying from 10s to 12s 6d per week ’rent, It was originally stated that the question of reduced railway fares was raised, but with this Mr March was unable to deal.
