Death of Mr W. Gray.

(By Telegraph l —Press Association.) ■WELLINGTON, This Day. The death occurred at midnight of Mr W. Gray, secretary to the post office. He had been connected with the Department for over forty years, was born in Aberdeen in 1844, ani came to the colony when a boy, completing his studies at New Plymouth. His first experiences here were in a newspaper office, but in 1664 he joined the postal department in Dunedin, and ten years later became secretary to the postal department, and for over a quarter of a century has held this important position. His health had been failing for some time. Apart fom his official position he was well known throughout the colony as an enthusiastic bowler, and was universally liked and respected.
