FREE SCHOOL BOOKS.

In connection with the agitation in favor of the State supplying school- ■ books, the,Minister for Education (the Hon. G. Fowlds) told a Press representative that he had already provided for that by means of the ’School Journal.’ This journal will be supplied free to the whole of the schools of ‘he V ; colony, and is intended to provide all the supplementary-reading matte** required'in the schools, and will provide the' matter required for class-work under the whole syllabus. All that will be v required will be one reader and perhaps an arithmetic book, no others being needed.
