Active heavy colts, for which there is a good demand, sold at from £42 to £45 r medium, £l9 to £3O 10s; light harness sorts, £9 155.t0 £lB ; buggy horses and good haoks, £l2 10sto £2l; ordinary hacks and gig ponies, £3 15s to £8; roadster, £2O; sulky, £ll l ; heavy Bpring cart, horse and harness £45. Medium unbroken and fillies brought from £27 6s to £4l 10s| lighter sorts, £l6 to £2O 10s: small yearlings to two-year olds, £1 to £9 15s; waggon and express class, broken, £29 58 to £37 10s; active sorts, suitable for butchers and grocers’ carts, £lB to £27 * buggy horses and good hacks, £l6 os to £27; light harness and ordinary backs, £7 10s to £18; weeds and aged and worn horses at all prices. ■ At Helensville on Wednesday we bad a good muster of cattle and sheep, but competition was dull, Dairy c’owS brought from £4 ns to £4l7s 6d; erantv, £1 18s 6d to L2 10s , bulls, LI 2s 6d to L 3; calves, 12s fid to 22s 6d ; yearlings to two-year-olds. 35s to L2 17s; beef at Remuera rates; ewes, 7s 9d to 10s; wethers, 17s to 18s. We held our second sheep fair at Remuera on Tuesday and. yarded considerably over tbe advertised number, close on 8000 sheep being penned, all of which, with the exception of a few pens, changed bands at very satisfactory prices. On Wednesday at Otahuhu, we held a clearance sale at Mrs Hadfleld’s. There was a large attendance and stock sold at fair values. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cattle sold from L2 10s to L 6 15s ; dry cows, 30s toL3 10s. Fat and young oalves, in less than average numbers, sold freely at an advance on late sales ; 50 sold. There, was a full supply of fat cattle of cboioe quality. Prices were easier throughout. Ox beef sold to 31s per 1001 b, cow to 18s. Steers ranged in price from Lo 10s to LlO 2s 6d; cows, L 3 10s to L 6 15s; 346 sold# The sheep pens were well filled with mutton of nine quality Prices did not keep last week’s rise. Best wethers sold to 245, others to 21s, heavy ewes to 21s 9d, lighter weights to 17s; 1580 sold. Lambs, penned in average numbers, sold from 10s to 15s 3d; 370 sold. Pigs, in less numbers than usual, were scarcely up to recent quotations, except for good porkers, wbioh fully maintained reoent ' values.
