PARIS, Yesterday. The public’s indignation, combined with M. Clemeneeau’s threat to light Paris with the aid of the military forces has overawed the strikers. The city, whilst in darkness, piesented some amazing fc -res. The Parisians enjoyed the fun until the losses, inconveniences aid danger became too acute. There were many ingenious devices to ban-light, steam engines and automobi e m tors being utilised in the street to generate electric power. Caudles sold like c nfetti at carnival time. The strike caught the companies and public in a quite unprepared state.
