Sugar for Canada.
PREFERENCE RETAINED FOR INDIRECT SHIPMENTS. (By Telegraph!—'Press Association.) OTTAWA, Yesterday. The action of the Canadian Minister of Finance in abandoning the proposal to enfine preference to sugar from British possessions to cargoes coming direct to Canadian ports will enable the West Indies to still export by way of New York.
