Preferential Trade.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) LONDON, Yesterday. The Associated Chambers of Commerce has urged the Government to conduct negotiations with the Colonial Conference- so that reciprocal trade may be promoted within the Empire. The mover, -Mr Reade of the Belfast Chamber, maintained that the colonies wished preference, and that if it was refused with Canada particularly as he had seen it elsewhere, it was thus leading to the disintegration of the Empire. There were a dozen dissentients to this view. The meeting also by 40 to 38 adopted a resolution urging the Government to make -the metiic system compulsory. *!
