Wedding Bells.
A wedding that excited more than usual interest took place at the Waitoa Methodist Church on Thursday, 26th insfc. The contracting parties were MrW. F. Stark and Miss Bellamy, eldest daughter of Mr S. Bellamy. The church was crowded to the doors. The Rev. J. Blight officiated. The bridegroom was supported by Mr C. £>. Stark and Mr David Bellamy, while the bride was accompanied by Miss Stark and Miss Eva Bellamy. The bride looked charming in a white cashmere dress, with white satin trimmings and white hat with tulle trimming*. Miss Stark looked very pretty in a cream voile dress with cream lace trimmings, and Miss Eva Bellamy looked well in a dress of cream nun's
veiling and lace trimmings. The bride and bridesmaids each carried lovely shower bouquets, mostly of white azaleas. The wedding march was played by Mrs McLean. The ceremony over, the wedding party and guests, to the number of about one hundred, repaired to the school r iom, where a sumptuous breakfast was spread. After ample justice ,h» d been ione to the good things, and the usual expressions of good will to th" young couple, the happy pair took their seat, amidst showers of rice, on the Auck-land-bound train. The presents were and costly ; prominent among them was a large and well-
bound family Bible, the gift of the trusters of the church, to mark the occasion of the fiist wedding celebrated in the building, also a handsome automate drop-head treadle sewing machine, a present from he congregation in recoguit 9 t of the bride’s services as organist since the opening of the church.
In the evening a dance was held in the Waitoa school-room, where a large number of old friends, neighbours, and relatives assembled to pay their respects to Mr and Mrs Stark, who take up their future home atWaharoa. Some of the guests present entertained the company with songs and musical contributions which were interspersed with dancing and gramophone selec tions, refreshments being handed round during the evening, which passed all too quickly with the many diversions provided. Mrs McLean kindly played the accompaniments to the various vocal contributions, and Messrs Alf. and R. Johnson supplied music fur the several dances.
