Orange Blossoms.

; A very pretty wedding took place yesterday at Waihou, when Miss Sylvia Cornes, the youngest daughter* of Mr Clement Comes, (who is well known in mining, circles), was , united in the bonds. of matrimony to Mr T. West, of Taranaki, The cere 1 mony was performed by the Rev. E ,M. I Cowie, at the house of the bride’s father. The bride was charmingly attired in white with a pretty picture i hat to match. Miss Biggs acted as > bridesmaid, and Mr E. Cornes as best j man. After the ceremony the wedding group was.photographed in j the garden, the party then adjourning 1 to the house, where a sumptuous’ wedding-breakfast was provided, a prominent feature being an attractive j fhrpe-'ier wedding-cake.. The toast “ The Bride and Bridegroom ” was proposed by the Rev. Cowie, and responded to by the bridegroom. The wedding presents were both numerous and handsome.

The happy couple drove to Te Aroha •station accompanied by a large nunaber of friends in buggies, and beparted on their honeymoon by the 3. 20 train en route f.or their new home in Taranaki, via Thames and Auckland.

In the evening the, numerous guests attended a dance given in the Waihou Hall to celebrate the occasion. The light fantastic was indulged in-until the early morning, to the tuneful pianoforte accompaniments of Mr Wharton Thompson of Te Aroha In the intervals songs were also rendered ■s follows: —Song, “Aun'ie,” Mrs Brown; Sailors Hornpipe, Miss Cornes; song, “I was Dreaming,” Miss Lovegfove; song, “ Little Boy in blue,” Mr James; recitation, “Blazes,” Mr Cornes; Irish jig by Mesdames O’Grady and McCabe. Mr M. Timmins proved a very efficient M.C.
