On Friday evoning a most enjoyable social wasgiv. n by the ladies of Wai* loa. as a farewell ro Miss Bellamy, whe is shortly lo b" married. The function, arranged by Mrs Hyde ns honorary secretary, was held in the Waitoa School.
A laige number of ladies and gentlemen from the surrounding districts, assembled to indulge in recreation on the light fantastic. Musical "accompaniment wa9 excellently rendered "in turn by Messrs Alex. Johnson, Alf. Johnson and W. B. Johnson.
I) ring fvp -t t< itching rec.tatioii eiugi -<1 ‘ My Gr..uuy ” was feelingly interpreted by Miss Ida Carswell, Mr E. Ivy coutiibutid a cornet solo, “Bluebell,” which was warmly applauded. Refreshments were handed round at the interval, .and full justice was done to the many guod things provided. Mr E. Timmins acted as an attentive M.C. The ladies of Waitoi a-e to be con-, gr itul iled upon the admirable way in which they Lav* l honoured their highly esteemed friend Miss Bellamy.
