(From our own Correspondent.) „ Last week Mr MoCardle was speaking in this district, te 'inr the f irmer? some veiy prpfy fairy tales in which he himself figured as the god fairy, Mr Massey being the terrible bogie, I should very much like Mr MeCardle to prove one of h'.s 3 atements, namely “ That if-auyone with a b >na fide gtievance wrote to Mr Massey, they did not get a courteous reply from that g-.-ntletnan.” We are pleased to here that Mr W. Simmons is progressing favourably, and in a fair way towards recovery from his accident. Farmers are at present very busily employed in ploughing their land for p itato p'anting. although the constant rain storms are keeping the land very we*, and causing great delay to the work on the farm^.
