Waihou Football Social.
PRESENTATION OF CAPS,
On Thursday evening, in the Waihou Public Hall, a social was given by the Waihou Football Club, at which were presented championship caps for the Senior and Junior divisions of the club. The interior of the hall was decorated for the occasion with a plentiful supply of green foliage. A large number of ladies and gentlemen assembled on the floor, the capacity of which was taxed almost to its utmost limit. Elegant and stylish were many of the costumes which the ladies had donned for the occasion. Musical accompaniment was tastefully rendered on the pianoforte by Mr Cosgrove, assisted in turns by the excellent violin contributions of Messrs D, Sheehan, Alf. Johns >n, and Hoban. During the course of the entertainment a humorous recitation given by Mr J. B. Grant and entitled “ Father Riley’s Horse,” was greeted with much applause, Supper was handed round during the interval, and the many dainties provided were much appreciated. The event of the evening, the presentation of championship caps, then took place.
