Te Aroha Volunteer Fire Brigade.

A meeting of the above Brigade was held on Monday last. Present!: Capt. Bygrave. Foreman Biggs, Firemen J. Salmon, W. Everett, J. Walsh, R. Maxwell, W. B. Mansell, D. Wallace, J. Drawbridge, Secretary Geo. McKee. The following nominations for officers, etc., for the ensuing year were received. Captain Geo. Bygrave unopposed Lieutenant W. A. Biggs ~ Foreman Geo. McKee „ Secretary Geo. McKee ~ Sen. Branchman W. B. Maxwell unopposed. 2nd Branchman Fireman J. Walsh ( opposed by J. Drawbridge. Two Hydrant men W. Everett, iD. Wallace, J. Salmon. The following are now qualified for the 5 years service medals.— Capt. Bygrave, Lieut. Stanley, Foreman Biggs, Branchman W. B. Maxwell, Fireman Windsor. Two year® service bar for medal : Fireman J. Salmon. Three years certificate®: Firemen J. Drawbridge, H. Salmon, and W. Everett.

It was decided to the Council for a grant of about £8 to enable the Brigade to become insured, and to procure the service medals, certificates, etc., the Brigade having absolutely no funds. The annual.meeting takes place on October 2nd, when the election of officers, etc., takes place. /
