Emigrants for Australia.
(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Melbourne, This Day. Mr Deakin has received replies from all the States and cabled to General Booth saying . —“I have communicated your proposals to the State Governments who alone control lands whereon immigrants can settle, and am pleased to inform you of their general willingness to take advantage of the opportunities you offer. The requirements sought are provision for the approval of intending immigrants before departure, and their prompt and efficient settlement on arrival. The States have communicated to the Agents General particulars of land available, and directed them to confer with you. I assure you of the warm desire of this Government to co-operate in any movement which will result in the introduction of desirable settlers.
