Mr Goorge, Director of the Technical Education Board, made a report oxprossiug his dissatisfaction at the disc I'lragoment of his eff nts to make tho Technical School a success, and pointed out that when he came to Auckland throe years ago he foimd thirty students in a red ramshackle
building Ho had developed the institution till there were now 700 studonts, and 100 refused for want ,of room. The Board had done every - tiling to help but the Government would do nothing. He had recently waited on the Premier to fqr L 15,000 md n|l lie would ofi:or was L2 for overy Li raised locally up to 1/2500. 110 luvd been gratuitously insulted by the Premier into the bargain, and unloss the Government did something to provide proper buildings, ho intended to give six month’s notioo.
During the discussion on the report members deplored the obstinacy of the Government. A resolution was passed asking Auckland members to press the Government for a grant of L 15,000 ns matters had now reached a oiisis.
