Gordon Notes.
(From our own Correspondent.)
The correspondent who wrote about the affairs of the Social Club is either misinformed or grossly distorting the facts. He speaks of a wordy war tak ing place at the meeting of the Social Committee on Saturday, Sept. 2nd,, at which the oppositionist was subdued and a dance was arranged for the 22nd. Now, no meeting of the committee was held that night, the meeting at which it was decided to wind up t*ie session with a dafice, took place two days after his letter was published. As far as I know there is no oppositionist on the committee, the members of which have worked togeth r with the greatest harmony, and as was testified on Saturday last, they have kept the Gordon from being “dormant” during the winter months. The weather continues showery, but not cold. The School Comraittee'are having a piece of the play-ground enclosed fora school garden, and all concerned are showing a lively interest in this practi caL braoch of education.
