la these (lays when the drama is all-pervading, a debt of gratitude is due to those who are endeavouring to guide popular taste into the best and healthiest channels. It may be said that the return of the Taylor-Carring-ton Co. to Te Aroha is an event of fortunate omen, presaging, as it. should do, a season of high-class entertainment of contagious laughter and mental zest. The play to he staged on September 2nd, at the Public Hall, is from the pen of Arthur Shirley, and is entitled, “Is She Guiltless?” Mr Chas. Taylor has purchased the sole Australian and New Zealand rights from the author. It is illustrated by some beautiful scenery, painted specially for this New Zealand tour, the most striking view being one of Paris by night, from the brush of Mr J. Little.
