The latter said accused was in the firm’s employ for 22 years and was well paid. On July 27th he found MacGregor locked iu his room and certainly under the influence of liquor. Witness told him to : leave at once, and see him when 1 in a fit condition in the morning. » Tiie acoused asked what was to be gained. That night he came to witness’ house and persisted ,iu seeing him though told he' was engaged and going out soon. As he entered ihe drawing-room ' MacGregor shot him. Sargood’s gardener, Ernest Kaye, stated MacGregor had expressed a wish that he had shot his own children before shooting Sqygood.
