Last night the new church of St Atdan, at lv uv.ngahake, was dedicated by the Anglican Bishop of Auckland (Dr Neligan), assisted by the Revs. Dr O’Cidlaghan (Thames), E, M. Cowie (To Aroha), Buckland (Waihi) and the vicar (Rev. J, P. Cowie, Ino service was fully choral, and uas beautifully rendered by a choir of over 50 voices under the baton of-Mr. James McGregor.. The church was crowded long before the service commenced. Ihe new building was admired, and great credit was given to the builder, Mr H Guthrie, for his faithful work, anci Mr Arnold architect of Auckland, for the beauty of the desigu. The building will seat about 200, and the cost, “with furnishing, is about £6OO. It is opened practically free of debt, a matter of congratulation to the officers and ladies, who have been at work for over three yeais. Mrs McGregor capably officiated at the organ at last night’s service.
