A fatal accident Occident occurred on the express this afternoon after leaving M'.mnsville. A young mm named Scott fell off from the platform connecting the dining car and another carriage, and was cut to piece«, Scott had been av;oatedJat Hamit on on suspicion of having stolen money from Mr W A Williams, storekeeper of Rotoiui, where he had been employed as kitchenman. There are also other charges pending against him. On Saturday night Insp ctor Cullen received a telegram fr im Sergeant Phair at Rotorua, stating that while Scott was crossing from one carriage to another in charge of Constable Pratt he (Scott) suddenly jumped hot ween the c images. He was run over and killed instantly.
