TENDERS. * , ; , r; A special meeting of the Te'Aroha Borough Council was he'd last evening. The Mayor (A. J. Farmer, Esq.), occupied the chair, and all the cduu cillors were in attendance. The special* business of the meeting was to open tenders and discuss a letter received from property-owners in Bridge-street. Carting pipes.—Only two ten lers were received for carting about 220 steel water pipes from the steamer landing to Tui Hill, viz., P. Bain", £ll 15s ;J. Robinson, 15s a ton —As the l , > specifications did not state whether the tender was to be at per ton, or so much ■•*; for the lot', and the Gounoil were unaware of the tonnage of the pipvs, Robinson was asked to put in a lump v . sum for the work. Chis he did, his *' price being £2s.—On the motion :of Cr Devey, seconded by CrO Meagher,. Baine’s tender was anf'vVod. *• •-
