Hawtrey Comedy Company
To night the above popular Company will open at the Public Hall with Pacheco’s famous production ‘ Tom, Dick, and Harry. ’ This play, as its name suggests, is a comedy-farce, and has obtained great notoriety as a laughtercompelling play. Nothing should be more welcome than an evening devoted to hearty laughter, as it is both mentally and physically beneficial. In * Tom, Dick and Harry ’ the public can be promised an evening which can be given up to unrestrained merriment for from all accounts the piece is one of the most amusing ever staged in this country. Mr Hawtrey .will be • " seen at his very best as General Stanhope, and in this part he has most o£ the work in the play allotted to him. Mr Gregan MacMahon, as Tom, is also much in evidence, and Misses Winifred Austin, Mary Bancroft,. Elsie Austin, Emma Bronton, and Messrs O. P. Heggie, B. L Keith, Oily Deer* ing, G. W. Elton, and others take prominent parts. The charming one *ct comedietta, ‘ A Highland Legacy ’ Jbtas created the most favourable impression wherever it has been staged, besides being very humorous, is most, picturesque and pathetm. Seldom does it happen that such an important and popular company can arrange to visit any but the large towns and we trust that this;opportunity will be availed of by all classes..
