The Plague.
Sydney, March 15. Inoculation with plague prophylactic commences to-day. It is restricted to those engagod in. the danger area and likely by reason of occupation, to con tract the disease A man named Butler Has been found to be suffering from plague. This makes the twenty-hrst case. To-day 225 persons wore inooculated Auckland} Last night. ' A despatch’from Manila dated 17th. February says that out of adotal of 51 cases of Buspected bubonic plague reported, 42 proved: genuine, and 32 deaths resulted, half of them being Chinese; There were 12 cases within the last week,, mostly within the walled city..
