WESLEYAN CHURCH.

Tiie services held in the Wesleyan Church on Sunday were well at ended, the minister for the day being the B v C. E, Beec oft, of D vei port. The preacher took for his evening subject ‘The greatnes : of the Commonplace,’ and delivered a very s.-und and striking address, showing plainly the great necessity of the common-place being filled, and in a fluent and porsu -sive manner urged liis cong-'ega-tion to fi 1 their respec'ive places in the recognition and reality of G -d’s sigh’—doing all 4 o Ilis glorv. The r v gentleman feelingly referred to the death of Trooper Bradford, of the N.Z. Contingent, and at the close of the service Miss Hirst, organist, p’ayod i . memoriam the piece entitled ‘ Spark of Life’ in her finish d sty’o. M iss Dazelev, of Auckland, sang during the s rvice the solo ‘ From Ciown to Cross,’ and with her sweet and ensured voice, rendered same in a ploasing and expressive manner.

This evening (Tuesday) an address wil! be given by Rev Beecroft. in the W< s’eyan Church, on * A Bide on the Knife-board of a London ’Bus.’ No doubt there will be a large attendance the subject will be an interesting one ; Miss Dazeley will also gvo an item, adding to the evenings pleasure. There will be no charge for admission, but a collection wi l be taken up in aid of the Trust Fund. Chair to bo taken at eight o'clock.
